Pop and rock concerts, festivals, musicals and comedy events are extremely popular with the Swiss public. They add to our cultural diversity, enrich our leisure time and serve as an attractive showcase for our towns and regions. 
The live music industry generates considerable value. Over 4.5 million visitors enjoy these events every year. Swiss Music Promoters Association (SMPA) members alone have combined ticket sales of over CHF 250 million per year.

Safeguarding Common Interests

The SMPA is the official spokesman of Switzerland’s live music branch. In that capacity, it plays an active role in decision-making processes and safeguards its members’ interests vis à vis third parties. The SMPA devotes much of its time to public relation activities as well as encouraging the exchange of information and experience between its members. It supports its members in their efforts to meet the increasingly high demands of the public, artists and authorities with respect to the management and staging of concerts, shows and festivals.
